Product Overview
Published by Theodore Presser. Here are two new short pieces for piano by Lowell Liebermann, who is currently riding on the success of his three oft-performed piano concertos, as well as Gargoyles for solo piano, which is quickly becoming a standard. Nocturne No. 9 was commissioned by Louis Meisel for Nadejda Vlaeva, who premiered it at the Husum International Music Festival in Husum, Germany on August 9, 2006. The piece begins simply and slowly, going on to alternate between quick, animated 32nd notes and a more languid alternate theme, never rising above a pianissimo. Nocturne No. 10 is another gorgeous short piece in largo and was written for the memory of composer Gian Carlo Menotti. For advanced players. Durations: 7 minutes
