The styles in this book are varied. Some arrangements are in the style which years ago was taught in singing schools by persons who traveled circuits in certain areas of the country and taught how to read shaped notes.
Other arrangements are written in more conventional harmony and fingering. There are third, sixth, and tenth intervals, oblique and three part harmony. Some are the Travis style, others, the thumbstyle as played by Mose Rager. There are a few spirituals.
