Schumann: Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 54 - Piano Duet (2 Pianos, 4 Hands)

Schumann's Op. 54 features a tight integration of the piano into the orchestra. The principle of contrast in classical solo concertos here makes way for a principle of fusion. Despite an initial difficulty in understanding this work, the Piano Concerto has become one of the most popular pieces in the Romantic repertoire.
