In the generally cheerful strains of Vivaldi's Concerto for Three Violins in F Major, Op. 23, No. 1 (RV 551), the three soloists tend to move mostly together in tight formation, occasionally allowing one voice to take prominence. All three violin parts explore the upper register of the instrument at length, particularly in third and fifth positions, and sometimes beyond.
